JEL UP is a social networking app for real-world activities. Post an intent (ping or event), join plans near you, chat with your group after you’re accepted, meet up, then leave a Vibe Check. It is not a dating app.

Open the app, enter your 10-digit Indian mobile number, and verify the OTP sent to your WhatsApp. That's it — no passwords, no email required.

Yes, JEL UP is completely free to use. There are no premium tiers, no ads, and no in-app purchases.

Location powers discovery. The app uses your GPS coordinates to show activities and events happening near you, and to let your own plans reach nearby people.

Your exact coordinates are never shown to other users — they only see the activity's meeting place and an approximate distance.

An Activity is a plan you post — something you want to do in the real world, like badminton, a coffee catch-up, a study session, or a founders meetup. There are two kinds: Pings (spontaneous, happening soon) and Events (planned, can repeat weekly or monthly).

A Ping is a spontaneous activity with a time limit — 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or until it starts. Nearby people with matching interests see it in their Discover feed and can request to join.

Tap Join on any activity to send a request (you can add a short message). The host accepts or declines. Once you're accepted, the activity's group chat unlocks for you.

You do. As host, you see each requester's profile and trust score, and you approve or decline every request. You can also open "Fill Empty Seats" to let nearby compatible people discover remaining spots.

Communities are local interest groups — run clubs, book clubs, founder circles. Join one to see its events, chat with members, and host activities under its banner.

After an activity completes, you privately rate the experience (Vibe Check) and can Vibe Up people you'd happily hang out with again. If a Vibe Up is mutual, you're added to each other's Vibe Network — a connection built on a real shared experience.

A 0–100 score built from real-world behavior: showing up, positive Vibe Checks, mutual Vibe Ups. Flaking and reports lower it. Hosts and joiners see each other's trust before connecting.

Each activity has one group chat. It opens for you the moment the host accepts your join request. There are no 1-on-1 cold DMs on JEL — strangers can never message you directly.

Group chats stay active while the activity is on. When the host marks the activity complete (or cancels it), the chat is archived — you can read it but not send new messages.

Yes. Group chats are real-time with typing indicators and instant delivery, plus push notifications when you're away.

No. Chat exists only inside activities and communities you've both chosen to be part of. This is by design — JEL is built around mutual consent.

No. Others only see the meeting place you set for an activity and an approximate distance. Your live GPS coordinates are never shared with anyone.

Toggle your visibility off in settings (Incognito). When hidden, your profile won't be discoverable for nearby activities, but you keep access to everything you've already joined.

You can block any user at any time. Blocking will:

• Hide their activities from you (and yours from them)
• Close any shared chats immediately
• Prevent them from joining your activities or contacting you

You can manage blocked users from your app settings.

Absolutely not. We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third-party advertisers or data brokers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

You can delete your account from within the app. This performs a soft-delete:

• Your profile is hidden from all users
• All your chats are deactivated
• You can no longer log in

Your data is retained for 30 days in case you change your mind. After that, it may be permanently removed. For immediate permanent deletion, email us at privacy@jelup.app.

Within 30 days of deletion, contact us and we can reactivate your account. After 30 days, recovery is not guaranteed.

Currently, phone numbers cannot be changed in-app. Contact support if you need to update your phone number.

JEL UP is available for Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store).

This could be because:

• No open activities are happening near you right now — post one and be the first!
• Location permission is off — the app needs it to find nearby plans
• Your GPS signal is weak — try moving to an area with better reception
• Nearby activities are full or have already started

OTPs are sent via WhatsApp. Make sure:

• You have WhatsApp installed and active on the number you entered
• You entered a valid 10-digit Indian mobile number
• You wait at least 30 seconds before requesting a resend

If you still don't receive it, contact support.
